Leafs Goalie Anthony Stolarz Fires Up Fans Ahead of Explosive Battle of Ontario

It's safe to say that Anthony Stolarz signing with the Maple Leafs might be the best signing the team has had in years. Expected to help back up Joseph Woll, he's already made history and has a chance to bring Toronto towards some more with a solid playoff performance.

While he is starting his first career playoff game against the Senators on Sunday, there's an air of excitement and a wave of confidence for Maple Leafs fans. With three shutouts over his last five starts, not only does he look ready, but prepared for a stellar showing much like he has so many times this year.

He also understands that this isn't your normal playoff series and the hype and intensity surrounding the Battle of Ontario will play a huge factor in the atmosphere in both Toronto and Ottawa.

Which is why he's not only prepared, but looking forward to seeing what the fans bring because the team is certainly going to bring it:

Continuing to do what they are doing is a pretty good way to go about things. They've won 12 of their last 15 games with three shutouts (all Stolarz) and there's a distinct difference from this year to last, and the team is not only more complete but are seemingly as motivated as ever.

Stolarz has done his best since signing with the Maple Leafs this past season. In 34 games, he's posted an outstanding 21-8-3 record with a 2.14 GAA and .926 SV%. If he hadn't gotten injured in December he could have easily put his name in contention for the Vezina.

We'll just have to see how Stolarz actually performs come playoff time since it is his first actual start. But if the past results and comments are any indication?
