Free agent forward Jack Roslovic has decided on his signing price as time ticks away for the Toronto Maple Leafs to present an offer if they still desire him per a report from Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects.

There's been a lot of talk recently about Jack Roslovic and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Not only because Toronto is looking to add some more offensive punch but his familiarity with Auston Matthews is also a huge bonus.

Jack Roslovic sets his asking price

It is also a positive that he isnt going to cost that much, and though he still remains unsigned, it seems no one is jumping at him just yet, even though he's offering a fairly cheap deal.
According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, Roslovic and his camp has set his signing price at least a two or three year deal worth over $3-million.
It's not a bad deal per se, and the fact that Roslovic can add some much to a team's top nine is a definite plus.

The Toronto Maple Leafs may not be able to afford Roslovic

Roslovic wanting essentially a maximum three-year, $9-million deal means that Toronto is either going to have to trade some names on the bottom part of the depth chart, or figure out some other way to shed salary.
The Leafs don't even have $3-million to work with, so the fact that the team can't even sign him for one year of that deal is rough. It makes sense that he's putting his price at a solid value, as though he is a good player; he does come with caveats.
He's not the best player defensively, a big turn off for some especially the Maple Leafs, and some may think his asking price is solely based on his 22-goal output, and buying on the hype he's ready to break out.
It's a lot for Brad Treliving to essentially throw away his game plan for the sake of a signing, and though he would be a cheaper option in the long-term given the asset swap, a trade seems much more plausible.
Roslovic, 27, had 39 points in 81 games (22 goals, 17 assists) with the Hurricanes after bouncing between Winnipeg, New York and Columbus. The Columbus, Ohio native has 260 points in 526 career games (102 goals, 158 assists).
It might be a pipe dream to see Roslovic alongside his old teammate Auston Matthews, though stranger things have happened.
This is the NHL after all.
