Toronto Maple Leafs fans need to get their calendars circled for the Amazon Prime Monday Night Hockey games, after the schedule was officially unveiled Wednesday.
The anticipation surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs' season, especially in the wake of losing Mitch Marner is absolutely palpable. Is the team going to falter in his absence, or rise to the occasion and make history? We won't know until the beginning of October, but the excitement is high.
For those who are interested in viewing Monday night games, that will need to be done through Amazon Prime Video, thanks to their exclusive rights deal with the NHL.
NHL, Amazon release Monday Night Hockey schedule for 2025-26
It had some flak for its implementation, but fans overall generally enjoy the experience and the extra reach the NHL gets thanks to the huge amount of subscribers certainly helps the profit margins.
So with another season gearing up, when and who are the Maple Leafs going to play on Monday nights?
The Maple Leafs are going to be playing in six contests on Monday nights, with the first being on October 13th as part of a double header versus the Detroit Red Wings in an Original Six clash.
The biggest game arguably however on the list is the one on December 8th against Tampa Bay, as the two heated rivals are no doubt going to be at the top of the Atlantic with all eyes will be on the divisional implications.
NHL excited and focused on Canada in 2025-26
The NHL's statement on the release gives a bit more info regarding the Prime schedule on Mondays:
Prime Monday Night Hockey is back this fall with a national spotlight on Canada's biggest hockey cities.
The 2025-26 season begins with a late afternoon game on Thanksgiving (Monday, October 13) when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Detroit Red Wings at 4 p.m. ET before moving west for the second matchup of a doubleheader, with the Vancouver Canucks taking on the St. Louis Blues at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Canadian matchups take centre stage on multiple nights this season, including an all-Canadian tilt between Ottawa and Winnipeg on December 15, a primetime faceoff between Vancouver and Montreal on January 12, and a Battle of Alberta on March 30.
Prime Monday Night Hockey will also host a marquee Atlantic Division rivalry between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning on December 8.
