Leaked Video of Mitch Marner Training in Vegas Sends Maple Leafs Fans Into Frenzy

The main story coming into the 2025-26 season is how will the Toronto Maple Leafs end up dealing without Mitch Marner.

Losing a 100-point player is tough but for a team that added several key pieces for less than his contract last year, they're doing their best to bandage the wound.

However, he is still Marner, and he's going to focus on his season ahead of him, and with high expectations not only from Vegas, but from the rest of the league given the circumstances, he needs to be on his game.

Which is why some leaked video showing him in Muskoka on the ice leads many to believe he's certainly motivated; whether for better or worse.

It wasn't a long video, and Marner just let a few shots go, but it's indicative of the entire situation: Marner feels relief. Whether you want to call it selfish or not, the pressure of the Toronto market was bothering him, and without a change he is just spinning his wheels.

The fan reaction however, was exactly what you would expect. Though there were some positives, a lot of fans were seemingly none too pleased.

It's all targeting Leafs fans, the potential main catalyst for Marner's departure, and probably for good reason.

Marner endured a lot of what could be seen as harassment, and the relentless nature of the fans to get frustrated with him is one thing, but when family gets involved there is a line needing to be drawn.

We knew he was out for a while, and though he may have had some extra outside influences it was pretty much set in stone.

Marner spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Leafs, putting in a franchise changing performance, unfortunately those changes never made it past the second round.

In 657 games he's registered 741 points (221 goals, 520 assists) and holds a place in the record books in several offensive categories but could never reach the heights expected of him.

So it's great Marner is ready for the upcoming season, let's just hope he has January 23rd circled on his calendar too.
