This afternoon a new report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Toronto Maple Leafs have lost out on several of their top trade options. This news comes as the trade deadline is just days away.

Friedman Confirms The Maple Leafs Are Out On Several Trade Options

In a new segment from his 32 Thoughts Podcast NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Toronto Maple Leafs are beginning to run out of trade options on defense. This news comes as the Seattle Kraken announced they are unwilling to part with several defensemen expected to be available.
Friedman on 32TP says Seattle isn't really interested in moving Larsson, Oleksiak or Borgen

All three of Adam Larsson, Jamie Oleksiak, and Will Borgen were considered to be upgrades to the Toronto Maple Leafs defense. Adam Larsson would likely have been the Maple Leafs' biggest target as he could have played the biggest role with the team.
The turnaround on Larsson especially comes as a bit of a surprise. He had been linked to a move out of Seattle and valued around the league for months before this announcement was made.
Friedman on 32TP says he was asked about Adam Larsson in Seattle, Kraken need a scorer. However, not sure if the Kraken would consider moving him, a lot of teams like him as a player.
Now the Toronto Maple Leafs will need to look elsewhere for their upgrade on defense. As of now, there are no trades near the finish line for the Maple Leafs. As trades do come close to being completed we will provide the latest updates to you.
