Former Leaf Ryan Reaves Has More Goals Than Connor McDavid, and Fans Can't Believe It

No, that was not a typo in the title. Ryan Reaves has more goals than Connor McDavid.

We aren't talking about a video game simulation or some type of fantasy world, but with his second-period marker against the Minnesota Wild, Ryan Reaves now has two goals this season, ahead of Connor McDavid's lone goal.

He is also ahead of stars like Travis Konecny, Sam Bennett, Steven Stamkos and Alex DeBrincat.

For comparison, those four combined for 141 goals last season while Reaves has less career points than they had goals last year (139). No one expected this type of production, and he's also fighting more; his main trait.

Clearly, there is something motivating Reaves, and whether it's the sunny confines of California, or the the lack of fan pressure; he's flourishing even at nearly 39 years old.

The Toronto Maple Leafs certainly wished that Reaves pulled off this type of production when he was there, and the fans are stunned at the fact that Reaves has suddenly turned back the clock so to speak:

However one fan is wondering if the hubbub about Reaves is just a small flash in the pan and we will get less of this going forward:

Reaves was not shy about leaving Toronto and called out the fans for their constant criticism although, it seems he may have not endeared himself to them with his play either.

Last season he was a non-factor, leading to him being waived and demoted to the AHL, a move he was less than thrilled about. Then with Toronto needing money, he was dealt to the Sharks for Henry Thrun, who has yet to debut for the team.

While both parties are more than happy to have parted, it does sting a bit that Reaves didn't show this level of fire when the team needed it the most.

But you have to be at least a little bit impressed he's outpacing some of the best in the world.
