Craig Berube had a humorous sentiment towards William Nylander and explained how their relationship is one that isn't your typical player/coach connection.

There's a lot to be said for William Nylander's season as a whole. Not only does the start forward have 13 points this postseason, but hit 40 goals for the third straight season including another goal against Florida.
He's looking more and more like the elite forward we know he can be, and is firmly cementing himself as a playoff producer. Often seen smiling and joking around the locker room, his boyish attitude undermines his competitive nature.
Craig Berube's only had this season to get used to Nylander, and had nothing but the utmost praise for the winger:
Nothing gets to him. He doesn't feel pressure. There is no too big a stage for this guy. He thrives on this stuff. He looks forward to it. He wants to be in all of those critical situations.
But the head coach also humorously mentioned how Nylander approaches his game plan and whether or not Berube gets involved:
He doesn't want me to talk to him.

Saying so with a chuckle, he also relented that the one thing he learned about his star forward is he prefers his independence.

Craig Berube's Trust In William Nylander Paying Off Huge

It's a great sign that Berube trusts Nylander enough to say 'Hey, do your thing' because trying to overreach or adjust too much of his game is detrimental.
You can't argue with 13 points in eight games, or 84 points in the regular season, and with him locked up for the long-term, Toronto seems to be in very good hands going forward.
If the chemistry between Berube and Nylander can keep growing, and the coach can toss ideas here and there to Nylander and let him figure it out, things are going to work out just fine.
It only took nine years for someone to figure out what to do with William Nylander, which is apparently to do absolutely nothing at all.
