The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired Brad Treliving. Craig Berube coached Monday's game against Anaheim hours later without knowing if he still has a job and according to Darren Dreger, Berube won't know for a good bit.

The future of Craig Berube as the Toronto Maple Leafs head coach awaits further clarity, but for now will remain as the team's coach according to a report from Darren Dreger.
Berube, who coached Monday's game against Anaheim, did so just hours after the Leafs let go of GM Brad Treliving, with Dreger reporting that Berube remains unclear about his own job security.
Berube has not been given clarification from the team on if he will continue beyond this season in Toronto, although having been made aware of Treliving's exit.

Craig Berube left uncertain over his future as Leafs head coach

Craig Berube has two more years left on his contract as Leafs head coach, and after leaving Brad Treliving with one year remaining, it remains to be seen if the Leafs take the hit on both contracts while moving on.
Berube has a 156-83-56 record in two seasons as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, having made it to the second round of the playoffs in his first season, but suffering a shock elimination from playoff contention in year two.
Rumors have swirled around Berube potentially being dismissed, but no definitive decision on Berube's future has been reported to have been made.
What isn't clear as well is if the Leafs have made a final decision on the future of Craig Berube, Toronto seemingly likely to at least finish off the season with Berube first and foremost.

Does Craig Berube get one more chance in Toronto?

Having let Brad Treliving go with one year remaining, will the Toronto Maple Leafs give Craig Berube the chance to turn things around? Or will they give him a pink slip right away and start the entire team from new.
What may also decide things is what coaching options exist on the coaching market. Veterans such as Peter DeBoer have been linked to the Leafs, as has newcomer Manny Malhotra as a first time coach. Recently departed Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy is another name now being floated.
Berube, who made the playoffs in his first season in Toronto, may earn himself another opportunity, although it doesn't guarantee him playing out all of next season if so.
Another challenge for Toronto's ownership, having to potentially conduct both a coaching and GM search at the same time.
No definitive action has been made on Craig Berube's future, but having let go of Brad Treliving go out of nowhere, Berube's future could come as much of a surprise.
