Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube updated everyone about the status of Anthony Stolarz after suffering a nasty concussion in Game 1.

Game 1 went in the Maple Leafs' favor for sure give they came out with a 1-0 series lead.
It wasn't without some controversy as Anthony Stolarz was taken out by a Sam Bennett headshot, leading to a lot of concerns about his health going forward.
For now, Joseph Woll is going to end up patrolling the pipes and while it's certainly not a terrible option it's still unfortunate that Stolarz will be out for a game or two at the very least.
That's what we hope is the best case scenario, a couple days off and bam he's back in.

Anthony Stolarz Progressing But No Idea When He Returns

But if you were to ask Craig Berube, that certainly feels like a longshot even though he's improving:
He's recovering. He's doing well. He's fine. Anything is possible. I don't have an answer for you for that right now.
Not the news that fans were looking for, at least in terms of when he is expected to return, but the fact he's progressing well and recovering quickly should give fans a huge sigh of relief.
Stolarz was fantastic so far this postseason, his first as a starter. Going 4-2-0 with a 2.19 GAA and .901 SV%, he's given Toronto every chance to win even if some of his stats don't show so in some facets.
Craig Berube is going to have to make sure that his team gives Woll every chance to perform with Stolarz out. The team needs to act disciplined, play smart, and not get flustered with Florida giving them headaches all night.
You have to commend the head coach though. In his first season coaching the team, he's turned them into a much more defensively savvy team who won't back down from the tough stuff.
He's also had to deal with a litany of injuries, both to his lineup and to both of his goaltenders.
How he managed to maneuver through that, and come out with a historic debut season should not be overlooked, and he deserves Jack Adams consideration.
But Berube has to get through Florida and whatever else comes after that, and all we can hope is that Stolarz is there to help him when times start to get tough.
