With the Maple Leafs unsure about the status of Anthony Stolarz, it seems we know how they feel about his Game 2 availability and who will patrol the pipes.
As Game 2 is set to kick off later on Wednesday evening from Scotiabank Arena, there are questions surrounding the Maple Leafs' starter for the evening after Anthony Stolarz is recovering from an elbow to the head.
Craig Berube confirmed that Anthony Stolarz would not have a locker in the dressing room, meaning he is going to be taking some much needed rest and try to get back into game shape for the rest of the series.
While unfortunate for the Maple Leafs, it's definitely for the best that Stolarz rests up as much as possible and there's really no reason to fear especially with their goaltending now.
If this was 2023 then maybe we have reason to panic, but Joseph Woll can certainly pull through, and if not, he's got a two-time Cup winner with a high playoff pedigree to help out.
Stolarz was however, the unquestionable starter for Toronto in the playoffs, and Woll's start on Wednesday will be his first of the postseason.
He's posted a 4-2-0 record with a 2.19 GAA and .901 SV%; very solid numbers for a player in his first postseason as a starter.
Don't expect Florida to give Woll any leeway though, and Toronto is going to need to be on their toes in order to curb any potential nastiness the Panthers might attempt.
For now, though, Stolarz is going to be out, and Woll is going to steady the ship.
At least, fans hope he does.
