Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin will return to Toronto tonight for the first time as a visitor. Ahead of his return to Scotiabank Arena, he spoke to the media about what he is expecting.
This morning former Maple Leaf Rasmus Sandin addressed the Toronto media for the first time since being traded at last year's trade deadline. Rasmus Sandin was sent to Washington for Erik Gustafsson and a 1st round pick which would become Easton Cowan. Now Rasmus Sandin has an opportunity to come back to Toronto with Washington for a proper thank you from the fans for his contributions. This is an opportunity Rasmus Sandin is very much looking forward to.
"I had a great time, I had a great time here in Toronto, there's nothing but great memories," Sandin said on Thursday morning. "Toronto will always be a special place for me and my family."
Since being traded to the Washington Capitals traded for Rasmus Sandin he has been a key piece of their group and even earned himself an extension.

"For them to have that belief in me to sign me for five years, I think that shows a lot of how much they believe in me and want me in this organization right now," Sandin said. "That's very exciting and I'm very honored to get that deal as well."
Both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals will be sure to bring their best tonight as they both push for a better spot in the playoffs. By the end of the night Rasmus Sandin could go from beloved former Maple Leaf to bitter rival.
