Buffalo Sabres Captain Rasmus Dahlin Takes Shot At Maple Leafs Fans

While not on the level of the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, or Boston Bruins; the rivalry the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres have is one of the most iconic in all of NHL history, and though the two teams are seemingly set on way different paths for the foreseeable future, they are forever linked.

A quick highway jaunt takes you from Toronto to Buffalo, and though the Sabres have not reached any level of success for nearly 15 years, they still seem to stifle the Maple Leafs whenever they meet.

A lot of different faces have been throughout both sides over the years, but one in particular who has a distaste for the blue and white is Rasmus Dahlin.

The Sabres defenseman has been adamant in the past that Toronto is one of his least preferred destinations not only to play as an opponent, but sure as heck wouldn't want to be a part of the team by any means.

His dourness for the Leafs hasn't stopped, and ahead of lacing up against the team one last time, Dahlin was sure to make sure he left the blue and white fans with some parting words about how he really feels about them.

Specifically when they come to watch in Buffalo:

Call him salty for not having sniffed the playoffs and continually being left in the basement of the NHL, or jealous for Toronto having more passionate and louder fans.

But it's not like the Sabres or the Buffalo community has a lack of passion or love for their teams; quite the opposite. Bills Mafia is one of the most well-known and rowdiest fanbases in all of sports, but also one of the most charitable, often donating to player charities as a sign of respect.

So, Dahlin can be upset with Toronto fans being so loud and present, but should really be talking to the owners and management about the situation; more so: When are you going to start competing?

Nobody wants to come watch a team who has been repeatedly beaten down over and over for a decade plus, with minimal signs of improvement and watching every single superstar leave their team for greener pastures.

For Dahlin, no wonder he must hate how loud the Leafs fans are.

They seem to be the only ones in the building.
