Sheldon Keefe Makes Massive Roster Shuffle After Blowout Loss in Buffalo
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to get back on track tonight against the Blue Jackets after a blowout loss, and Sheldon Keefe has made huge changes to the lineup.
Keefe Shuffles Lines After Blowout Loss to Buffalo Sabres
After the Leafs got the business handed to them on Thursday night against the Sabres, there was no surprise that Sheldon Keefe wanted to shake things up ahead of the Leafs' game tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Whether it is to spark some fire or try new things out, Keefe is ready to sport a fresh lineup.
Heres how the Leafs' lines looked at their previous skate.
#Leafs lines at practice Dec. 22/23
Knies-Matthews-Marner
Bertuzzi-Tavares-Nylander
Robertson-Domi-Holmberg
McMann-Kampf-Gregor
Absent: Jarnkrok
Rielly-Brodie
McCabe-Liljegren
Benoit-Lagesson
Giordano-Timmins
The biggest move of note is reuniting Matthews and Marner on the first line. While the two had both had moderate success separated, putting Nylander back with Tavares and Bertuzzi will hopefully spark the second line.
Holmberg Skates with Third Line As Jarnkrok Misses Practice
Calle Jarnkrok missed practice yesterday with the Flu bug that has been ripping through the Leafs and is questionable for tonight's game. This has given Leafs prospect
Pontus Holmberg an opportunity on the third line.
Also of note, Mark Giordano continues to practice and hopefully, for Leaf fans, he will make his return to play soon.
