In most circumstances, it would be rather odd for the NHL's commissioner to meet with a head coach candidate, but this instance actually makes some sense.
Joel Quenneville was the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks during their assault scandal, and once all the details from that incident were released, Quenneville was fired from his then-current position as head coach of the Panthers.
Quenneville has not been allowed to coach in the NHL since then, and he's reportedly looking to make a comeback behind the bench of an NHL team. Before he can return to his coaching duties, Quenneville will have to be cleared by the NHL, and it looks like the steps are already in motion.
It doesn't look like fans are too happy about the possibility of Quenneville returning to coach in the NHL, especially after he helped cover up a major scandal. They let their thoughts be known on Twitter:
With all this controversy surrounding Coach Q, should he be allowed to return to the NHL?
