Mark Giordano has played 1,101 games in the NHL. He was captain of the Calgary Flames for many seasons, and we understand why. He's a leader who shines by example. On the ice, his behavior is irreproachable, and we got another proof during this weekend's clash against Montreal.

Giordano Shows His Great Sportsmanship, Helps Out Opponent After Big Hit

Nick Suzuki was on the receiving end of a huge hit by Giordano. The impact was so significant that Suzuki lost his stick.

After the hit, both players got up on their skates, and Giordano waited for Suzuki and gave him back his stick.

It's a small gesture, but we don't see that often in the NHL. The contrary frequently happens, and players throw the opponent's stick around.

Giordano is a responsible defenseman. He's usually where he's supposed to be on the ice and conducts himself with integrity. It's not surprising he did what he did to Suzuki. This shows what kind of player he is. Don't think he'll do the same come playoff time...
