Maple Leafs Reveal Matthew Knies' New Number
The Leafs finally managed to sign Matthew Knies this evening, and he has now gotten his first NHL jersey number.
Knies Will Wear
After wearing #89 for the University of Minnesota, who made it all the way to the Frozen Four finals before being eliminated Thursday, Knies will wear #23.
#89 is already taken by Nick Robertson, who will hopefully be a full-time roster member next season.
Many Leafs have worn the number 23, including big names such as Eddie Shack, Pat Quinn, and Todd Gill.
We will just have to wait and see if Knies is the best of the bunch!
