BREAKING: Maple Leafs Sign Matthew Knies
It was just announced that the Maple Leafs have signed for prospect Matthew Knies to his entry level contract. This comes after a long sequence of cap moves.
Knies Signs ELC
Matthew Knies was eliminated from the NCAA frozen four playoffs last night, after letting go a 2-0 lead to Quinnipiac in overtime.
This gave him the chance to leave the NCAA and make his professional debut.
He has now signed his ELC with the Leafs, with an annual average value of $925,000. This leaves the Leafs with only $3,000 in cap space, and gives them a new option for the playoffs in either the NHL or AHL.
Congrats on the new contract Matthew!
