Ilya Samsonov opened up about an injury he suffered last night against the Montreal Canadiens.
Awkward Injury
During the second period of the game, Samsonov slid to make a save with his left pad. Immediately after sliding, it was evident that Samsonov was in pain.
Samsonov, however, was able to bounce back and finish most of the game.
He exited the game with a little over a minute left in the third, giving rookie goaltender Jett Alexander an opportunity he'd never forget.
Postgame Comments
Samsonov commented on the minor injury after the game.
"'It's OK. I feel good. Just a little bit squeeze and feel like tight, but nothing crazy. You know, Sammy never break.'"
The Maple Leafs would go on to defeat the Canadiens 7-1.
