The Boston Bruins' Brad Marchand may soon find himself in hot water with the NHL's Department of Player Safety following a questionable hit on New Jersey Devils' forward Michael McLeod during Saturday's game in Boston.

Disciplinary Action on the Horizon?

While McLeod was in the process of moving the puck out of his zone, Marchand delivered what seemed to be a high hit on the young player. Take a look at the incident here:

Several reports indicate that McLeod left the game visibly dazed and bleeding, yet no penalty was assessed to Marchand during the match. Matt Porter of the Boston Globe suggested that the hit was not a good look for Marchand, especially considering his history as a repeat offender:

''Need to see a few more angles of that hit, but that first angle wasn't a good look for Marchand.''

With the evidence at hand, it remains to be seen whether the league will take action against the Marchand.

With the playoffs looming, could Gary Bettman make an example of Marchand to show how officiating will be in the playoffs?
