Maple Leafs Starters Revealed for Upcoming Back-to-Back This Weekend

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has been notorious for keeping the media in the dark when it comes to his lineup chances. Oftentimes, fans won't get to know the updated lines until a reporter sees them at practice and posts them online. Keefe certainly employed that strategy ahead of the Leafs back-to-back this weekend against Carolina and Ottawa, but it seems the starters for each game have finally been revealed to the public.

Murray to Seek Redemption Against Ottawa

As the Leafs took to the ice to practice this morning, Ilya Samsonov went through his normal starter's routine, indicating that he'll start tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. This leaves Matt Murray as the presumptive starter against the Ottawa Senators, barring any last minute changes.

Murray is in his first season with Toronto after being traded by Ottawa this summer, and will likely start in his first game against Ottawa since being traded. This season's been full of ups and downs for the veteran goaltender, but you can be sure he'll look to redeem himself against his former team on Saturday night.

As for Samsonov, he'll appear in his second straight start tonight against Carolina, coming off of a shootout loss against Colorado on Wednesday. The Leafs have a huge chance to pick up potentially four points this weekend, a d boost their ranking in the standings.
