This weekend, former Leafs Head coach Patt Quinn was honoured at his hometown arena in Hamilton, Ontario. On Saturday, a 50-foot mural of Quinn was unveiled near center ice.
The unveiling was led by Patt's brother Barry, who was joined by several of Patt's NHL teammates and players, including Leafs defence partner Mike Pelyk, winger Steve Thomas (who played under Quinn), Hall of Famer Geraldine Heaney and emcees Joe Bowen and Jim Tatti.
Quinn was a tough Irishman who sported an infamous mean mugged and trademarked game-face glare, featured in the mural. Many attendees of the unveiling wore a shamrock pin in honour of Pat, who died in 2014, aged 71.
His brother Barry had this to say about Patt's legacy in his hometown.
Patt will always be remembered throughout the NHL and now in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
