Former Maple Leaf Passes Away
Some sad news was released earlier today.
Maple Leafs Alumni Passes Away
Billy MacMillan, who played for the Maple Leafs from 1970 to 1972, passed away Saturday night at 80 years old.
He took part in 137 games in Toronto but also played with the Islanders and the Atlanta Flames.
Later, he became an assistant coach for the Isles and won the Stanley Cup in 1980. Afterwards, he was hired as the Colorado Rockies' first GM and was the first GM of the New Jersey Devils.
Tribute
Billy MacMillan was inducted into the Prince Edward Island Sports Hall Of Fame in 1985.
Doug Maclean, former coach and GM in the NHL, paid tribute to MacMillan.
"Billy MacMillan was my idol growing up in PEI. NHL player, coach, GM."
