Former Leafs and Senators Prospect Sentenced to Prison
A former Toronto Marlie has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges.
Gabriel Gagne was once a highly touted NHL prospect whom many thought could one day become a game-breaking NHL talent. However, he never materialized and peaked at the AHL level playing for the Belleville Senators, the Rockford Ice Hogs, and the Toronto Marlies.
With the Marlies, he scored 7 points in 22 games but was eventually let go shortly after his stint began due to poor play and character issues.
He has been out of hockey since being accused of sexual assault back in 2020-21 season.
Gagne Sentenced To Prison
Gagne has been sentenced to prison after harassment and death threat charges were placed against him which he has pleaded guilty to. He berated his ex-girlfriend for three years ultimately resulting in him facing six months in prison.
Court reports show texts Gagne sent that roughly translate to him saying "I'm going to kick the s--t out of you." In addition to this, Gagne created burner accounts to prevent his ex-girlfriend from blocking him.
Gagne has also been accused of sexual assault on two separate occasions which he has yet to be tried for which could result in more prison time.
