William Nylander is coming on to be one of the top free agents this summer, and the Leafs are notably in a tight cap situation. With Nylander doing everything in his power to earn his next contract this year, the question has become if he is playing himself out of Toronto's price range.
Now, NHL insider Darren Dreger has given a massive update, stating that its likely Nylander will be asking for $11 million.

Nylander Earning His Next Contract And Wants To Stay In Toronto
There is no question that William Nylander is going to earn his next big deal. With already 42 points in 30 games this season, Nylander is a prolific goal scorer. He has also been one of the few consistent scorers in the playoffs for the Leafs, recording roughly a point per game in his last 3 postseasons for the Leafs.
Whether or not he gets 11 million, though, remains unseen. With the cap going up, it is possible, however, many believe that to be a high number. We will see if Treliving is doling out the cash for Nylander or he will have to cash in somewhere else.
