The projected first-overall pick for the upcoming draft, Macklin Celebrini, was just ejected and is likely facing a suspension for a dirty boarding play.

Celebrini Ejected And Potentially Facing A Suspension

In a pre-tournament game today Macklin Celebrini, the projected first-overall pick for the upcoming draft, was ejected for boarding.

Macklin Celebrini gets 5 minutes for boarding and a game misconduct for this hit on Leo Braillard.

The IIHF is a lot more strict when it comes to player safety so there is a solid chance we see Celebrini get suspended for this hit.

Expert Scott Wheeler wrote the following on this hit:

Here's the Macklin Celebrini hit. The IIHF is strict on these types of plays. Would guess he has to sit a game or two to start the tournament.

Celebrini is projected to be one of Team Canada's best players so any game without the young phenom will be a difficult game for Canada.

Hopefully he is able to help them bring home a gold medal once he returns from his suspension if he is suspended.
