With training camps just around the corner, predictions on the lineups are starting to come in.

The insider Chris Johnston made an important decision.

Johnston Predicts the Leafs' First Line

Johnston talked about the end of the offseason in the latest episode of his show, The Chris Johnston Show. Among other things, he discussed the Leafs' potential first line.

Here's what he said:

"I think you could see Tyler Bertuzzi, for example, on the Leafs' top line. To me, it makes sense to at least start him alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner on the left side."

Bertuzzi on the First Line?

It looks like the spot alongside Matthews and Marner will be up for grabs. Many players will certainly be tested in the training camp to see how they can raise their level when playing with superstars.

We could very well see coach Sheldon Keefe try a few combinations, but don't be surprised if they include Matthew Knies, William Nylander, or Max Domi.

Let's not forget Johnston's favorite, Tyler Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi will be looking to make a strong impression with the Leafs to secure his long-term future in the NHL. That's why he'll probably give all he has to get a spot at the top of the lineup.
