Toronto Maple Leafs waive goaltender Ilya Samsonov

The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a final decision on Ilya Samsonov to send him to the AHL.

GM Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs have officially placed goaltender Ilya Samsonov on waivers.

The Leafs will likely be replacing Samsonov with Swedish youngster Dennis Hildeby.

AHL Toronto recalled Luke Cavallin from ECHL Newfoundland. Meaning, should Samsonov clear tomorrow, Dennis Hildeby may be going with the Maple Leafs on their California trip

Now every single team in the NHL will be able to claim Samsonov's rights but given his poor play, he may not be changing organizations. We will know tomorrow at 2pm EST if Samsonov is still a member of the Leafs organization.
