The Toronto Maple Leafs have called up a new defenseman from the AHL.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have just announced that they have called Simon Benoit up from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

The @MapleLeafs have recalled D Simon Benoit from the @TorontoMarlies.
Benoit is a 25-year-old defenseman who the Leafs signed last offseason but was one of the last cuts from Leafs camp a few weeks ago. Luckily he cleared waivers and stayed with the franchise.
Last year he played in 78 games with the Ducks registering 10 points and 60 PIMs along the way.
He will look to make his Leafs debut versus the Wild this afternoon.
