The Maple Leafs clearly had issues on their blue line this summer, but after some big free agent spending, it appears that things have gotten completely worse in 2023-24.

John Klingberg a healthy scratch for the Maple Leafs?

While Ryan Reaves was a bad decision, it gets even worse for Brad Treliving, as he also inked veteran John Klingberg to a deal, but now, less than one month into the season, he appears to be a healthy scratch upcoming.

John Klingberg appears to be the 7th defenceman at Leafs practice today.

The Maple Leafs will battle Treliving's former team the Calgary Flames on Friday, and after struggling defensively in recent weeks, this could be the move that turns them around completely.

There's still plenty of work to do in net, their bottom-six and on the blue line, but if the Leafs can get the energy, passion and defensive prowess out of others that they couldn't get out of Klingberg, this move will be a net positive.
