More bad news for Former Penguins goalie Casey Desmith
This summer has seen plenty of player movement throughout the NHL, and for Casey DeSmith, it appears he's on the verge of being moved for a second time in the past few weeks.
Another trade incoming?
Just a few weeks ago, DeSmith was involved in the deal that saw Erik Karlsson land in Pittsburgh, sending himself and Jeff Petry to the Montreal Canadiens, and now, it could be happening again.
According to a report from an NHL Insider, the Canadiens are actively shopping DeSmith, who would be the fourth goalie on this team already, making sense why they are so happy to move him.
A major problem
While trades and movement is expected at the professional level, the personal side is often easy to overlook, but right now, DeSmith's wife is pregnant, making another potential trade a major nightmare for their family.
It's unclear yet what the market could possibly be for DeSmith, but with many teams needing depth at the goaltender position, it's safe to say there's going to be some interest, and with too many goaltenders on the roster, it's very unlikely he starts the year with the Canadiens.
