A major announcement was made concerning the controversial Tony DeAngelo in the last few minutes.

DeAngelo Terminated

The Philadelphia Flyers officially put Tony DeAngelo on unconditional waivers, in the intention of buying out his contract.

"Flyers have placed Tony DeAngelo on unconditional waivers for purposes of a buyout.

They had 72 hrs from the resolution of Noah Cates' pending arbitration case to execute in a second buyout window.

If unclaimed, DeAngelo will become a UFA. Will he end up in Carolina that way?" - Frank Seravalli

He's now a UFA and will look to sign another contract before the start of next season.

More details will follow.
