Developing news after Tarasenko just got signed by the Ottawa Senators on a one-year $5 million dollar deal. It has just come out that Tarasenko denied offers from several Stanley Cup contenders.
Teams Tarasenko said no to
It was just reported by Jeremy Rutherford that Tarasenko declined offers from the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes and San Jose Sharks before ultimately choosing the Ottawa Senators.
With other teams on the radar the question arises why did he choose Ottawa?
The Young Gun Sens
After years of rebuilding the squad the Senators have now got a squad full of youthful energy all throughout their lineup.
With Thomas Chabot and Jake Chychrun leading the wall on the back end and the likes of Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle it becomes easier to see why you would want to join this team.
After missing the playoffs last year by just 6 points and losing Alex Debrincat via trade it did not look good for the Senators.
However adding a six-time 30-goal scorer to your already solid top-six will definitely help their chances of making the playoffs next year.
