The Minnesota Wild have been on the cusp of elite play over the past few years, and now they appear to have found their goaltender of the future, but what does that mean for a star veteran?

A Stanley Cup Winner

Marc-Andre Fleury has spent the better part of the past two years in Minnesota, but at 38-years old, it was a wise move for the team to look to the future, as they handed Filip Gustavsson a three-year extension today.

Now, it appears that could push out the veteran, who played well in his 46 games last year, but at 25-years old, it appears Gustavsson is ready to be the full-time starter now.

Where could he end up?

Whether it be a buyout or on the trade market, this move will seemingly push the three-time Stanley Cup Champion out, as the team are seemingly set at the position.

Even at 38-years old, Fleury has a palatable $3.5 million cap hit, and with teams like Buffalo, Ottawa and potentially Pittsburgh looking at the position, he'll have no shortage of suitors.
