The Florida Panthers took a major leap forward in 2022-23, making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals, but now, the team find themselves in a tough salary cap situation.

Moves incoming?

This has led to much speculation that after the acquisition and major extension for Matthew Tkachuk, the Panthers may need to move on from some top tier players.

One name that has been mentioned is former No. 2 overall pick Sam Reinhart, despite his positive contributions over the past few years, as the team believe they could replicate his production elsewhere.

A rising star

Since being acquired by Florida, Reinhart has played in 160 of a possible 164 games, tallying 64 goals and 151 points over that time, but unfortunately for him, it appears his time in Florida could be coming to an end.

With so many teams out there looking for veteran help, especially down the middle, the 27-year old could be the perfect candidate, and with his contract expiring at the end of this year, it could be a way to find great production for cheap for another playoff ready team.
