REPORT: Oilers Shopping Former Top-10 Pick
The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly looking to move on from a former top-10 pick.
Oilers Shopping Broberg
Back in 2019, the Edmonton Oilers took a swing on defenseman Philip Broberg with the 8th overall pick. Broberg was widely considered to be a top prospect but many thought the pick was a reach at the time.
So far Broberg has only played 69 NHL games and has only 2 goals and 11 points. With his lack of production and being so far down the Oilers depth chart, insiders are beginning to think Broberg needs a change.

What A Broberg Trade Would Look Like
While Broberg is less valuable than he was when originally picked, he still could be a piece used in acquiring a better player.
If Edmonton were to be interested in another defenseman, a package like Broberg and a 1st round pick could likely bring in a key contributor for the future.
At the end of the day, the Broberg pick continues to age poorly as the Oilers passed on players like Trevor Zegras, Matt Boldy, and Cole Caufield in favor of somebody who is now struggling for the franchise.
