Two Players Reach 1,000 Career Points on the Same Night
For most people, Monday is just another day, but for these two NHL players, today became "Milestone Monday."
Pavelski
Pavelski scored a goal against the Detroit Red Wings, recording his 1000th career point in the NHL.
Pavelski was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 2003 NHL Draft. He played with the Sharks for 13 seasons until signing a 3 year, $21M contract with the Dallas Stars in 2019.
Giroux
Giroux scored a goal and an assist against the Carolina Hurricanes, allowing him to record his 1000th career point in the NHL. With the three points tonight, he sits at 1,002 career points.
Giroux was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers 22nd overall in the 2006 NHL Draft. He was appointed captain in 2013 and remained with the team until being traded, along with Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov, and a 2024 5th round pick to the Florida Panthers in 2022 in exchange for Owen Tippett, a 2023 3rd round pick, and a 2024 1st round pick.
Giroux finished out his contract with the Florida Panthers before signing a 3 year, $19.5M contract with the Ottawa Senators in free agency.
