Corey Perry Accidentally Spills the Beans on Hawks' Future Plans
In a recent interview, Cory Perry might have accidentally leaked what the Chicago Blackhawks could have in store this season.
Perry's Number Choice Signals Important Future Plans for Blackhawks Organization
Perry has historically worn number 10 through most of his career. However, even though the number is available this year for Chicago, Perry was told he would not be able to wear it.
Perry has worn other numbers in the past, notably number 94 during his time with the Canadiens. He will be wearing 94 again this year with the Blackhawks, as he was denied number 10.
Did Perry Leak a Future Jersey Retirement for Blackhawk Legend?
The denial for Perry to wear number 10 has fans speculating as to whether or not the Blackhawks will be retiring the jersey number sometime soon. The Blackhawks have only retired 6 jerseys even though they are an original 6 team.
The most notable Blackhawk to wear number 10 is without a doubt Patrick Sharp. He was a Blackhawk from 2006 to 2018 and helped lead their incredible run that saw Chicago win 3 Stanley Cup Championships.
Sharp scored 249 goals and a total of 532 points in 749 games with the club and is now part of the organization as a Special Advisor to Hockey Operations.
