Connor Bedard Accomplishes Feat That Hasn't Been Seen for Nearly 100 Years
Connor Bedard was the most hyped prospect the NHL has seen since Connor McDavid. So far, he's mostly lived up the hype. After a relatively slow start in his first few games, Bedard now has five goals on the season, including four in his last five games.
Bedard On Pace For Historic Season
Three-game goal scoring streaks are hard enough to come by from any NHL player, let alone a rookie. Scoring four goals in five games is almost, if not more difficult to do. That being said, some additional context is needed to showcase just how good Bedard has been this season. In fact, Bedard became the first Blackhawks rookie to score five goals through his first ten game in nearly 80 years.
Bedard In Company With Hall Of Fame Players
With five goals through 10 games, Bedard is currently on pace for 40 goals this season. That would tie him for 13th most all time by a rookie, only behind NHL legends such as Eric Lindros (Hall of Fame), Mario Lemieux (Hall of Fame) and of course, Teemu Selanne's (Hall of Fame) historic 76 goal rookie season in 1992-93. Needless to say, Bedard is in good company on this list if he stays on his current goal scoring pace.
