As reported by Elliotte Friedman, Corey Perry has officially cleared waivers today. Perry will now have his contract terminated by the Chicago Blackhawks, as they intended by placing him on waivers.
Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson addressed the media yesterday to discuss the incident with Perry, putting to rest any rumours circulating online. Davidson was visibly upset throughout the press conference.
ESPN has also confirmed today that the incident that led to Perry being terminated involved an employee of the Blackhawks organization, which occurred during a road trip. Perry was pulled from the lineup as soon as the organization found out about the incident.
More details on what actually happened have yet to be revealed, and may not be, as this saga continues to unfold.
