The Chicago Blackhawks lost a locker room leader when they terminated Corey Perry's contract and they have now named his replacement.
Chicago Blackhawks Give Jason Dickinson The A That Corey Perry Used To Wear
Every single NHL team has a leadership core that consists of the best leaders on and off the ice. Normally it is one player wearing the C and a few others wearing an A but a new trend is to have a couple of players wear A's instead of having a C.
The Blackhawks are one of these teams and went into the season with Seth Jones, Connor Murphy, Corey Perry, and Nick Foligno wearing the A.
-
However, Perry had his contract terminated leaving a void and letting there be a player who could step up and wear a letter.
The player who stepped up was forward Jason Dickinson who earned the letter.
-
Dickinson currently has 9 goals and 14 points through 28 games and has established himself as a key leader within the Blackhawks locker room.
