Auston Matthews Spotted Training with Clayton Keller

It is no secret that during the NHL offseason, Auston Matthews heads back to Arizona to be closer to friends and family. However, during the offseason, players must maintain their fitness and Matthews chooses to do so by training in the Coyotes' facilities.

He was just spotted training with Arizona's best player, Clayton Keller.

Keller is the only player on the Coyotes that comes close to Matthews in terms of talent. The two also have many ties with both playing on the same USNTDP team, both being 2016 draft picks (Matthews 1st and Keller 7th), and both are top of the line in terms of talent.

With Matthews and Keller being so close and Keller's talents seemingly being wasted in Arizona, it has led to speculation on if the Leafs could ever acquire Keller. Coming off a 37-goal 86-point year, Keller was far and away the Coyotes' number-one player and was their sole offensive dynamo.

With a player this talented, who is also on a team-friendly deal for the next 5 years, it seems like the perfect player for the Leafs to acquire. However, it would cost the Leafs a pretty penny to acquire.

With William Nylander's contract situation being unsure, he could be one of the pieces that head to Arizona if they decide to make a move because the Coyotes could pay him whatever he desires.

The Coyotes' defense is also abysmal so a piece like Timothy Liljegren could be moved as well. A fresh start for him could see him unlock his true potential, similar to Rasmus Sandin in Washington.

While Keller would look fantastic in a Leafs jersey, it would cost a lot and a lot of external circumstances would need to be met.
