The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing a conundrum in net, and it appears Sheldon Keefe has made his choice, naming this goaltender the starter for tonight's game.

Leafs Name Jones Starter for Tonight Against Blue Jackets

Coming off their brutal loss to the Buffalo Sabres, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Sheldon Keefe are shaking things up on their lineup card. With some players going back to previous linemates, the biggest question floating around is who will start tonight.

That question has been answered, as the Leafs have made Martin Jones the starter for tonight.

Martin Jones will get the net for the #Leafs vs Jackets as the team looks to continue to support Ilya Samsonov's struggles. Changes up front and on the back end. Why Calle Jarnkrok missed practice and more from Columbus.↩️

This decision comes after Ilya Samsonov's poor performance in Buffalo, giving up 5 goals with a .737 save percentage. Jones has a .907 save percentage in five appearances this season for the Leafs.

Samsonov's Struggles Raising Questions in Toronto

Much of the focus on where Toronto needed improvements in their roster has been on the backend. However, as the Leafs have managed to scrape by with their backups on the blue line, some are questioning whether or not they should look to acquire a goaltender or send Samsonov to the minors.

Woll/Jones should be the Leafs tandem after the trade deadline.

We will see how the roster shakes out as the trade deadline approaches after the holiday season.
