Phil The Thrill Kessel has achieved a rare status in the NHL, as a three-time Stanley Cup Champion. The older veteran was a massive part of two Cups in Pittsburgh, and while he played a lesser role in Vegas this year, his presence in the locker room was important.
The newest Conn Smythe winner, Jonathan Marchessault, made an appearance on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast to discuss the aftermath of their Stanley Cup victory. Marchessault explained that before the decisive game five, Kessel gave a speech to the entire Knights locker room to try and motivate them.
Kessel and his teammates can be seen smoking cigars with the Cup on display in front of them, surrounded by a massive serving of tater tots. While Kessel was once famous for eating a hot dog out of the Cup, it looks like he's found a new food of choice.
