Jack Eichel's blockbuster trade saga played out over two years ago now, and we all know how it ended, with Eichel being dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights. However, he recently went on a podcast to discuss how the trade negotiations went down, and how Bradt Treliving nearly landed him in Calgary.
While Eichel was obviously not traded to Calgary, they did end up making a big move of their own, acquiring Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar.
Of course, hindsight is 20-20 for us, but its clear as day that Eichel made the right call to take his talents to Las Vegas instead of Calgary. While it's no telling exactly what would have happened while playing revisionist historian, Eichel's winning of the Cup last year makes it obvious that he made the right call to go to Vegas instead of Calgary.
