Zach Hyman was cherished during his time in Toronto, as he is one of the nicest players off the ice and the hardest worker on it. Many Leaf fans were sad to see him go to Edmonton in free agency but were happy he was paid what he deserved.
Now, NHL insider Chris Johnston has revealed just how well Hyman is doing this year with the Oilers, scoring at an incredible pace.
Hyman already has 19 goals in 30 games played this year, which is an incredible number for a guy who has made his career out of being a grinder in the corners. He has also tallied 12 assists for 31 points total so far this year.
When Hyman first signed with Edmonton over Toronto in Free Agency, many thought he was being overpaid, earning a $5.5 million AAV with the Oilers. However, that deal is turning out to be a pretty good one for the team, as Hyman was a point-per-game player for the Oilers last year, and appears on the same pace this season.
