Everyone's expecting Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs to make some significant moves this summer.
With 22 free agents on their roster, Toronto's hands are tied. They'll need to get rid of poor contracts in order to sign new players.
As all points toward Matt Murray being either bought off or traded, it looks like another major trade is brewing in the Leafs organization concerning a member of the Core Four.
Trading Nylander or Matthews
Howard Berger reported on Twitter that the Leafs are apparently working on a pre-draft trade involving a member of the Core Four.
"Told the #Leafs are «working diligently» on a pre-draft trade. Involving a member of the Core-4, I'm not sure. Perhaps Nylander, which is risky. Matthews is the only guy I'd trade. #LeafsForever"
This shows one thing: even if Treliving said the four players were safe in Toronto, he might change his mind and trade one of them if the return is advantageous.
With the draft in a week, we'll know what Treliving decides sooner than later.
