Brad Marchand has quietly put together another solid season so far since he took over the captaincy following Patrice Bergeron's retirement. However, his family was hit with some tragic news last week.
Marchand Struck With Loss Of Grandmother
Marchand is currently facing a tough stretch in his personal life as his grandmother passed away last Friday.
However, the tragedy has not seemed to affect his play on the ice as the veteran forward played hero in back to back games for the Bruins.
First he had what must have been an especially invigorating goal as he struck pain into the hearts of Leafs fans by ending a crazy overtime period with a goal, crushing Leafs fans hopes after a remarkable comeback.
Then he went on to get one of the rarest personal achievements in the NHL when he scored a natural hat trick in his next game.
The Bruins captain is up to 11 goals and 23 points in 24 games so far this season. He is still looking for his second career Stanley Cup Championship after he lifted Lord Stanley's hardware as a rookie in 2011.
