Fleury Delivers Major Update Regarding His Retirement

Marc-Andre Fleury is one of the greatest goaltenders of this generation. 20 years after he was drafted first overall, we now know where he stands with his future.

Fleury Likely in His Last Year

After having signed a two-year, $7-million deal in Minnesota, Fleury, now 38, was already likely near the end of his career.

With one year left in that deal, Fleury has now made a statement saying he is likely in his last year.

"This could also be my last year. I'm going to try to enjoy it as much as possible."

The three-time Stanley Cup champion could have had his fourth had the Vegas Golden Knights not traded him, and he commented on that as well.

"I was happy for the players, happy for the guys I played with, especially the guys from the beginning. Our Quebecers too; [Nicolas] Roy, [William] Carrier, and [Jonathan] Marchessault. But on the other hand, it's disappointing to have missed that moment. To have started with the team and that, two years after I left, they won, it's a shame."

Most likely a hall-of-famer, if this is the end for Fleury, it will be the end of an incredible career.
