BREAKING: Pierre-Luc Dubois Requests a Trade

After all of the speculation over Pierre-Luc Dubois and whether he would stay in Winnipeg, we have confirmation of his plans. For the Winnipeg Jets, it's not good news.

A Bridge Too Far

In the latest edition of TSN's Insider Trading, Pierre Lebrun stated Pat Brisson, the agent for Dubois, has already told the Jets his client is now finished with Winnipeg and won't be signing an extension, not even for one year.

"Our understanding is Pat Brisson has informed the Winnipeg Jets that his client isn't inclined to sign an extension this summer not even a one-year bridge, Pat Brisson would like to work with the Jets on a trade for Dubois to another team." - Pierre LeBrun.

Not the First Time

If this seems like an overly confident move for a 24-year-old restricted free agent, it isn't the first time it's happened with Dubois. He also told the Columbus Blue Jackets his future plans didn't include that team, and was traded out for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic.

Dubois' cap hit this past season was $6 million. He is going to get a raise after two straight 60 point seasons. At 24, he's also just coming into his prime years. The rumours have been that he wants to play for Montreal, the team he grew up cheering for in Quebec. That said, as an RFA, Dubois does not have complete control over where he lands.
