This afternoon new reports from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman have linked defenseman Justin Holl to the Maple Leafs at the trade deadline. The Maple Leafs have been in a desperate search for a defenseman and Holl could fit the bill.

Insider Connects Former Maple Leaf To A Return In Toronto

Elliotte Friedman today was speaking about the upcoming trade deadline. During his talks about adding a defenseman he mentioned that Justin Holl is a name that has been thrown around.
Friedman on 32TP: «Toronto is looking for a right shot defender, you know who's available?»

Marek: «Justin Holl?»

Friedman: «Yup»

Friedman not only spoke about the Maple Leafs interest in Holl but continued and talked about what it could take to land him.

Friedman Reveals The Asking Price For Holl

Elliotte Friedman then mentioned that the Detroit Red Wings could be looking for a goaltender. Even though the Red Wings already have 3 goaltenders they would like more stability in their backup role and could look to make a move.
On Detroit: Guys talk if Justin Holl could go back to Toronto. Team looking to clear up some space. Elliotte wonders if they could be looking at a goalie, even though they have 3 right now. #LGRW #NHL #NHLTradeDeadline

With this in mind, the Maple Leafs have Ilya Samsonov who they could dangle to the Red Wings. More than likely it would take giving up Martin Jones if a goaltender is in play. As of now, talks are preliminary between the teams on Holl.
As the talks begin to heat up and the deadline comes closer we will provide you with the latest updates.
